Terms of service

Effective 13 October 2026

The game

Realms of Dusk is a desktop game. The shared world is reached at play.realmsofdusk.com:19620. These terms apply when you create a character, log in, or otherwise use that world. If you do not agree, do not play.

Who runs it

The operator hosts the world and this site. The operator may pause, move, or shut down the host. There is no uptime promise. The world can go dark for maintenance, power, or a bad night.

Accounts and characters

You need a character name and a password to play. Keep the password to yourself. You are responsible for what is done on that character.

Forgotten-password mail is not live yet. When it is, recovery will go through the address on the account, not through a password emailed in the clear.

Conduct

Play fair. The operator may warn, mute, kick, ban, or wipe a character that:

Player killing, theft, and lying in the world are part of the game where the rules allow it. That is not a free pass for out-of-game abuse.

The world can change

Stats, maps, items, and drops can change. Wipes, rollbacks, and lost loot happen. The operator does not owe gold, items, or time back.

What we own

Realms of Dusk — the client, the server, the art, the writing, the name, and this site — belongs to the operator. You may play. You may not copy, sell, or host the game as your own, or scrape the world for a dump of our work.

Names, chat, and signs you type may be stored and shown in the world. You give the operator a right to keep and display that while it lives on the host.

No warranty

The game is provided as-is. It can crash, desync, or eat a save. The operator is not liable for lost characters, lost time, or anything you do because you played. To the extent the law allows, damages are limited to zero.

Privacy

What we keep, and what we do not sell, is on the privacy policy page. That page is still being written. These terms still apply.

Ending play

You can stop at any time. The operator can close an account or the whole world at any time, with or without a reason posted in patch notes. Closed accounts are not owed a copy of their save.

Changes

These terms can change. The date at the top is the one in force. Playing after a change means you accept the new terms. Big changes will be noted in patch notes when we can.

Contact

For now, use the Account / Help page. A public mail and Discord will land there when they exist.
